The K+ Steno-course-license: US $1000
(too old to reply)

Only one (1) license per city.

With your license you can offer the K+ Steno-course
http://www.k-x-4u.com/$20.htm
and the following incentives: the K+ Steno-game
http://www.k-x-4u.com/steno-game.htm,
the K+ eWriting Web-kit http://www.k-x-4u.com/eWriting.htm , and the K+
Steno-course
Certificate for FREE!

The license can be shared by up to four (4) individuals.

However, at least one (1) of the license co-holders
will have to come to Ottawa, Ontario to be trained.
S/he will receive the K+ Steno-course-notes as well
as K+ Steno-course-license for his/her city.

Ideally, everyone should come to make sure no one
does NOT have any unanswered questions regarding
the giving of the course. Because they will be the only
ones *authorized* by the license to give it, it is in their
best interest to ensure that they can deliver the best
course possible in order to be able to get *referrals*
that will generate more business.

Besides, the training is FREE.

Please note that if an *unauthorized* person (a non-
license-holder) gives the course, the *entire* license
*will* be revoked and given to someone else.

The Materials
===========
1. The K+ eWriting Web-kit
The is no cost for the K+ eWriting Web-kit which is sent
via e-mail.

2. The K+ Steno-game
The K+ Steno-game material consists of nine (9) pages
(the Introduction Sheet, the Instruction Sheet, the List
of Example-words, and the 6-page Game Sheet) for
each of the six (6) players. That's a total of (6 x 9) 54
sheets of paper that will be put into a brown manila
envelope. That should cost about $6 to produce. The
game in electronic form will be sent via e-mail to the
license holder.

3. The K+ Steno-course-notes
They are divided into two (2) parts: long-format and
short-format speedwriting.

Long-format: 29 stenographs
=======================
Long-fomat is divided into stenographs representing
vowels and stenographs representing single consonants.

The stenographs representing vowels are composed of
six (6) stenographs: two (2) punctuation marks (a comma
and an apostrophe), two (2) regualar letter (the e-letter
and a dot-less i-letter), two (2) unique stenographs (a dot
and a small backward slash below the line).

And the stenographs representing single consonants
are composed of 23 stenographs: 16 using regular
alphabet letters and seven (7) using unique stenographs
[a top-down diagonal line, a bottom-up diagonal line, a
short line used in three (3) different ways, and a long
line].

Short-format: 44 stenographs
=======================
Short format uses stenographs that represent more
than one sound or combine two (2) stenographs.

It uses 44 stenographs: 39 using regular letters (of
which 12 are disjointed) and five (5) which are unique
( a concave line, a convex line, a convex line with a
c-letter at the end, and a short veritcal line.)

Speed
=====
Greater transcription speed can be achieved by writing
words together without spaces between them when
there is no disjointed stenographs and by using as few
stenographs as possible - just enough to get the sound
outline of the word or sentence.

Punctuation
=======
The only thing that is different is that there is no dot
under the question mark, a paragraph ends with a
double forward slash instead of a period, and a comma
can be either be written with an inverted v-letter on top
of it or encircled so NOT to be confused with the steno-
graph represented by the comma that represents the
long o-sound.

Steno-pad
========
A steno-pad is divided into two (2) columns.

Transcription begins in the first column to the left and
then once at the bottom of the first column continues
by going to the top of the second column to the right.

Incidentally, the fountain pen is still the preferred
instrument of choice for transcribing.

Once a transcribed column is typed, a diagonal line
starting at the bottom left-hand corner is drawn up
to the right-hand top corner of the column.

Pricing
=====
Ideally, pricing should be both VARIABLE and
AFFORDABLE depending on how many intend
to take the course, on the cost of rental facilities,
on whether it's being offered in a school, college,
universiy, or at a business.

For any K+ Steno-course organized by the licensee
to which the K+ owner is invited to give, the profits
will be shared with the licensee.

10 *KEY* SELLING POINTS
=======================
Point 1
Because this speedwriting uses the regular letters
of the alphabet apart from a few punctuation marks
and lines (diagonal, concave, convex, short vertical,
and straight long and short line) it's very easy to learn.

Point 2
It can be learned in about two (2) hours.

Point 3
The whole family can benefit - especially if the
chidren are in Grade six (6) or higher.

Point 4
Those who take the course can get 40% off the
regular price off the K+ Steno-kit http://www.k-x-4u.com/Steno-kit.htm.

Point 5
With their K+ Steno-course Certificate they can
add the K+ Steno-course to their resume.

Point 6
Instead of lugging a laptop around that might get
damaged or stolen, they just take their a steno-pad
and walk *confidently* into that class or meeting.

Point 7
They'll enjoy THE COOL FACTOR that will set
them apart from the pack that's says, " I'm SMART".

Point 8
Rather than being in a panic when taking note,
they can relax and take their time to listen to
what is being said while knowing they'll be able
to write it all down.

Point 9
Later, when typing their notes at their convenience,
they can review and edit them for clarity.

Point 10
Speedwriting is very handy when taking notes at a
meeting or when doing research at a library or when
jotting things down while on the phone.

Sales Survey
==========
Prior to getting the licence it's strongly suggested
to ask 30 to 100 people the following questions to
find out how to market the course.

The following survey will generate EXCELLENT
SALES LEADS.

~~~~~Start of Survey~~~~~
Hi!
May I ask you a question regarding speedwriting?
Would you be interested in taking an easy-to-learn
1.5 hour speedwriting course that uses the regular
letters of the alphabet?
It comes with the K+ eWriting Web-kit and
the K+ Steno-game for FREE.
==> No.
Say: "That's fine. Thanks for your time."
OR
==> Yes.
Say: "May I ask you a few *quick* questions?"
What is your profession?
______________________________________
What part of the city are you from?
_______________________________________
May I have your age? __________
(Note: some people may NOT want to give out the
information to the above questions. Just respond
by saying: "I understand. That's fine.")
Would you want to take the course in the morning,
afternoon, or evening? (Put a check mark on either
morning, afternoon, or evening.)
On a weekday or on the weekend?
(Put a check mark on weekday or weekend.)
Which day - preferably? __________________
At what time? _____ a.m./p.m.
(Put a check mark on either a.m. or p.m.)
How much would you be willing to pay for the course?
$ __________
Where would you like to take it?
1st choice: ___________________________
2nd choice: __________________________
I'll give you a 30% discount off this NEW speedwriting
course if I can get your *first* name,phone # and e-mail
address - if you have one.
Your *first* name is : __________________ .
Your telephone # is : _________________ .
Your e-mail address: _________________ .
(Note: some people do NOT give out their
e-mail address for fear of getting spam.)
THANKS for your time.
Have a GREAT DAY!
~~~~~End of Survey~~~~~

To serve as a reminder, you could give the person
a 30% discount coupon that includes an expiry date
along with your *first* name and contact information
(phone #, cellular #, e-mail address).

Call the person towards the end of the expiry date
of the coupon to find out if s/he is still interested.

Say: "Hi. This is *first name* calling to find out if
you are still interested in taking the speedwriting
course and to remind that you still have time to
take advantage of the coupon I gave you.".

If YES, makes arrangements with him/her to take
the course.

If NOT, ask: Could I have the *first* name and
phone # of anyone else you know that could
benefit from knowing speedwriting?"

At the end say: "THANKS for you time.
Have a GREAT DAY!"

This survey is an excellent way to generate good
sales leads, It's a good idea to do it - periodically -
in different parts of the city.

Your Own Business
================
You can create a limited business whose name can
be Toronto's School of of Speedwriting if you have
the K+ Steno-course-license for Toronto.

Cities have office rental facilities where boardrooms
can be rented on a per hour or 1/2 day or full day
basis that you can rent on a as-needed-basis.

If you have a portable whiteboard, you can even
offer the course in homes.

Universities and colleges will rent rooms
equipped with blackboards as well.

Plus, many businesses have their own inhouse
facilities which makes giving the course very easy.

K+ Steno-course Certificate
======================
Participants should be given a K+ Steno-course
Certificate indicating the date they took the
course and who gave it so thet have proof that
they did take the course and can put it on their
resume.

Here's one: click here. http://www.k-x-4u.com/certificate.htm
(Click on the K+ logo to come back here.)

A Fun-learning Experience
=====================
This course can easily be taught so that participants
can have a fun learning experience by getting them
to participate from the very start.

Example: Can anybody give me a 1-syllable word
with the eh, ah, or aw sound? That's for the eh-
sound, how about the ah or aw sound now? etc.
( By the way, the stenograph that represents those
a-vowel sounds is the apostrophe.)

If people can participate and have fun, getting
other people interested in taking the course
should be easy.

Training
======
Training takes place at 704-125 Stewart Street,
downtown Ottawa, Ontario and only lasts a few
hours.

Within a four (4) block radius there is an international
youth hostel http://www.hihostels.ca (1.613.235.2595)
(where the cost of an overnight stay is $28.35), hotels,
and a major shopping centre, The Rideau Centre.

Some of the major tourist sites are within a 20 minutes
walking distance.

K+ Steno-course-license Fee: US $1000
================================
The license fee is US $1000 and is non-
refundable.

It is also paid when the license is renewed annually.
(Note: the license will be renewed only if the K+
Steno-course has been offered in the city and no
place else.)

The fee can be paid either by certified cheque or
by postal money order made out to Kenneth Selin
and sent to 704-125 Stewart St., Ottawa, Canada
K1N 6J3.

Only one (1) license per city.
Perhaps it's worth pointing out that Kenny has been a regular
spammer in the Ottawa-related newsgroups for quite some time.
He's *not* new at this, just learning-deficient.

I actually read through a large chunk of the spam, trying to
figure out ... is he actually trying to teach Speedwriting? or
get other people to teach Speedwriting? At this time of day?

I learned Speedwriting when I was just out of college; made my
living as a secretary for years & years; I can remember going to
a meeting with the first laptop, the TRS-80 model 100, INSTEAD of
a steno pad and it was so much nicer.....

Now he's trying to persuade us that going back to the steno pad
is easier and will provide the Cool Factor?

I don't think so.

Dorothy (Ms. Heydt),

Thank you for you interest.

The title of the posting gives it away as to what all this is about.

I can well understand that you enjoyed THE NOVELTY of a laptop
as did I.

The fact of the matter laptop are easily left behind, damaged, or
stolen.

The notepad is light and SO CONVENIENT. At your convenience
you type your notes at edit them at the same time. This also
provides a handy review of what was said and a reminder of
what needs to be done.

A person who knows speedwriting HAS THE EDGE over someone
who does NOT: he or she is MORE ON THE BALL so to speak.

It's one more sales feature you can put on you resume in a very
competitive job market.

You say that you took speedwriting a long time ago and I imagine
it took you quite some time to master it.

THE BEAUTY of this couse is that it will take ONLY 1.5 hours or so
to learn to speedwrite. Within 30 minutes you learn LONG-FORMAT
speedwriting. And the next hour SHORT-FORMAT speedwriting.

How's that?

It's all in the design.

It's VERY WELL DESIGNED.

Plus, participants get the K+ eWriting Web-kit
and the K+ Steno-game for FREE!

Speedwriting can go a long way to REDUCING AND
RELIEVING STRESS at WORK and SCHOOL.

It helped me get FIVE! university degrees and ALMOST FIVE! others
at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

TODAY YOU HAVE TO BE FAST: it's all about SPEED.

If you have speed on your side you can do more in less
time and NOT feel so stressed out.

Speedwriting is a BIG HELP when it comes to being fast.

Incidentally, the course is offered in FRENCH as a separate license.

The renewal US $100 K+ Steno-course-license for a year
is A GREAT DEAL that can benefit THE WHOLE FAMILY,
THE WHOLE COMPANY.

For more info go here http://www.k-x-4u.com/license.htm

Get it TODAY!

Cheers!

Dorothy (Ms. Heydt),
Thank you for you interest.
<snip>

a) Please don't advertise on rec.arts.sf.composition: our charter and
FAQ (see link in my .sig) both forbid it.
b) I bet alt.languages.english don't want your ads either.
c) Crossposting is an abomination unto the Lord; I've trimmed followups.

Your ad doesn't have a damned thing to do with a newsgroup about
writing sf.

Ads are not welcome here, and I suspect are also not welcome in the
other newsgroup you inflicted yours on.

Placing your ad where you did will have a NEGATIVE impact on your
sales. Advertising in the wrong newsgroups WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU BUT
WILL WORK AGAINST YOU.

But they're a lot easier on the hands. I can type a lot faster,
