Dear all,

I supposed that only the phrase "...was published _on_ the Internet is
possible." Lately I have seen some phrases using "...in the Internet."
Would you comment on the usage of preposition On and In, please?

And would you consider the collocation IN TV as a wrong one?

Thanks

For me "in" sounds incorrect - the Internet isn't a publication but a
medium like radio or television where information is "broadcast", so to
speak.

Yes.

Yes, wrong, if you intend the same kind of context as in your first
question (seen on TV, broadcast on TV, but working in TV).

Broadcast on the radio or on television, but published in the press.
I suppose you could make a case for either "published on" or
"published in" the internet. That being said, I would always say
"on". I am a native speaker of North American English.

You want comments on prepositions? OK. The use of "on" or "in" is
often just a matter of idiom, and can vary by region. For example, in
Britain you live in a street; in North America you live on it. The
best way to learn the idiom is probably to read the prose of
respectable writers. Don't trust usage that you see on the net.
